Kwahu West Agric. Director advice farmers

The Agric. Director for Kwahu West Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region, Mr. Francis Dogbese has called all farmers in the Municipality to take advantage of the availability of land in the area to adopt the shifting cultivation system to improve production.

Mr. Dogbese said it has become necessary to add value to our farm produce to ensure increase return on our investment and also ensure food security in the municipality.

According to the Director, the farmers should join groups in line with the commodity they produce to give them increased bargaining power because there is power in number.

He further appealed to sons and daughters of the land to support the work of the department of by investing in agriculture and consume locally grown rice produce in our Municipality to ensure our farmers stay in business. He stated this at Nsuta Aweregya during the 35 National Farmers day celebration.

He, therefore, took the opportunity to acknowledge some distinguished individuals, businesses and institutions that supported the successful event.
