Nzema East MCE inspects Kutukrom to Tebakrom road

The Municipal Chief Executive of the Nzema East Municipal Assembly, Hon. Frank Okpenyen together with the Municipal Coordinating Director and the Municipal Engineer on Tuesday, 2nd March, 2021 paid a working visit to Kutukrom

The visit was to inspect ongoing Kutukrom road construction and also to address resettlement issues raised by those who have been affected by the construction work.

The roads(Prestea to Kutukrom and Kutukrom to Tebakrom) form part of the Cocobod sponsored roads which started in November 2020 after the Gwira Traditional Area was made a Cocoa District through the efforts of Hon. Catherine Abelema Afeku,former Member of Parliament of Evalue Ajomoro Gwira.

Together with the chiefs and elders of the Kutukrom community, all issues concerning resettlement were peacefully resolved.

The Chief, Nana Daniel Kuah expressed his sincere gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive and his team for the visit and also helping to peacefully address concerns of the people. The chief further promised to give the necessary support to the contractor to ensure the completion of the project as it is the first time such a project is happening in Gwiraman.

The affected members of the road construction also thanked Hon. Frank Okpenyen and his team for the timely intervention in addressing their problem.

The Municipal Chief Executive and his team also took the opportunity to visit a 12-year old pupil of Sikaneasem basic school who was injured during heavy rainfall. Hon. Frank Okpenyen also donated an undisclosed amount of money to the boy for his hospital expenses.
