Presenting the items, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area, Mr. Isaac Kwadwo Buabeng entreated the beneficiaries to always restock the items and also make a conscious effort to make savings daily out of the sales they would make.

This, he said, will help sustain their businesses.

The MCE appealed to other benevolent individuals and corporate organizations to support the Assembly’s drive in providing startups for these persons as the 3 percent of the Common Fund is not enough to cater for their needs.

The Municipal Social Welfare Officer, Mad. Christiana Tamakloe, also disclosed that nine thousand Ghana Cedis has also been used to pay for school fees and hospital bills for some other persons with disabilities.

She said all the beneficiaries personally requested for the various items being presented to them. She therefore appealed to those who are yet to receive their items to exercise a little more patience as it would be their turn in the coming quarters.

A beneficiary, Blessing Mensah could not hide her joy and expressed sincere gratitude to the Assembly and the department for the gesture.

The items include 2 lockable metal containers, 7 chest freezers, 2 poly tanks, hardware items, assorted plastic drinks, bags of water, bottled water, boxes of frozen fish and chicken, assorted over the counter drugs, cements, and shoe making tools and materials and bags of charcoal.
