Nana Somuah, who is also the Asakrakahene, made this assertion when he paid a courtesy call on the chiefs and people of Suhum as part of his familiarization tour to the Eastern Region.

In a short statement to welcome him to the Suhum Municipality, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Mrs. Margaret Darko Darkwah thanked Nana for taking it upon himself to tour the eastern region in an effort to collate the problems and concerns of the people.

She urged the Assembly members, Heads of departments, party members, chiefs and all present at the meeting to come up with issues that bother them.

In a speech to address the chiefs and people in the Suhum Municipality, Nana Somuah Mireku III thanked the people for endorsing him as a member of the Council of State for the Eastern Region. He said that as someone who has been given the power to counsel the President and other government officials, it is prudent that he comes down to the level of the people he’s representing, take their views, problems and address them accordingly.

Nana also pleaded with the Assembly members and all present at the function to have patience with the government of the New Patriotic Party, as more policies are being developed to facilitate development in Ghana. He urged all Assembly members and departmental heads to do their best in supporting the MCE in her quest to develop the municipality.
