Densuso chief appeals to government for pipe borne water

The Chief of Densuso, Baarfo Adu Amenyaw has appealed to government through sector Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah, to provide his community with pipe borne water.

According to the Densuso Chief he has written several letters for pipe borne water to be provided to no avail, adding his community is where the source of water is gotten and treated before distributed to other communities.

He recounted that between 1976 and 1977 where the Ghana Water Company Limited, built a sub-station in the community and distributed water to other communities they were left out, despite the fact that sources of water was coming from Densuso.

And thanked the Chinese government that they have been remembered and provided with a borehole as one of the beneficiaries of the one thousand and twenty-nine (1029) Chinese borehole provided across the country.

This, he disclosed at the weekend during the commissioning of a borehole at Densuso by the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources and the Chinese Ambassador to Ghana.

“It is a memorable day for us, it is a new day we never dreamt of it to get this water if China and Ghana has been able to build 1029 boreholes, we thank God you remembered us”

He further emphasized the need for the community to be provided pipe borne water despite the borehole. “Is like you cook and someone from outside would come and eat, is it not good government should come to our aid?”

In a related development, the Municipal Coordinating Director of Suhum, James Martey who spoke on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) noted that the borehole has come to enhance the quality of life of the people of Densuso and people in the rural areas.

“This would go a long way to strengthen the bond of friendship between Ghana and the people of the Republic of China, we would do well to ensure that the borehole is maintained to ensure there is availability of water to the people all the time since water is life”.
