Mr John B. Ninson, Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, announced this at the third ordinary meeting of the second session of the sixth assembly held at Winneba.
He said it has been identified that many schools lack the requisite furniture and this has become the preoccupation of the assembly.
Mr Ninson said the assembly will provide dual desks to every school as a medium term solution whilst a long term policy is drawn to address the situation.
We shall also add some facilities to some overcrowded schools which include the Unipra South School in order to contain the numbers.
On finances, Mr Ninson said the financial position of the assembly has doubtlessly improved saying as at October 2017, the total assets was 10, 298, 195.78 whilst their total liabilities was 0.00 Cedis.
As at November 2017 ending, their performance in the Internal Generation Fund (IGF) was 780,307.85 representing 92 percent of the total budgeted for 2017 respectively.
He said their share of the District Assembly Common Fund for the same period was 1,530,809.02 representing 40. 90 percent while the Urban Development Grant (UDG) registered 1,614,563.31 Ghana Cedis, representing 83.04 percent.
Mr Ninson said five projects being financed by the common fund have been completed and these are: construction of the office complex (Phase one), a 16-seater aqua privy toilet at Nsuekyi, the extension of electricity from the main transformer at the Seed Company to the Winneba Abattoir, the external lighting and connection of electricity to the main administration block (Office Complex) and procurement of galvanized coated roll-on off waste contains for the assembly.
One critical emerging challenge on our security as a municipality is the presence of Fulani herdsmen and their cattle and the indiscriminate sand winning across the length and breadth of themunicipality, he said.
He said meetings are ongoing to help forestall any activity that would disturb the peace of the area.
