The training, which took place at the forecourt of the Municipal Assembly, is expected to ensure that Persons with Disabilities in the area startup their own businesses to help improve their livelihoods.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Abraham Antwi, welcomed the 30 participants to the program and admonished them to take the training seriously since the skills obtained from the training could serve as a source of employment to them, especially in an era where entrepreneurship is being encouraged.
He pledged the Assembly’s support to ensure that they become useful in the society.
The Head of the Social Development, Ms. Mary Serwaa Adjen, said the purpose of the training is to train participants in the making of liquid soap and also enable an exchange of experience.
The resource persons, Ms. Ramatu Bassiru, and Ms. Mercy Bukudah took the participants through the various stages in preparing liquid soap where participants also took turns to practice what they had learnt by making their own liquid soap.
Ms. Adjen thanked participants for their contributions towards the success of the program and urged them to put to use the skills acquired to better their livelihood.
