Oforikrom Municipality Boosts Trade with Daily and Monthly Markets

The Oforikrom Municipality continues to strengthen its role as a trading hub with a network of markets that serve farmers, traders, and residents. There are currently eight daily markets operating in the area.

These include the Onion Market at Anloga, Ayigya Market (including Tech Junction), Nsenie Market, Anwomaso Market, Ayeduase Market, Kotei Market, and the Main Anloga Market.

Among them, the Onion Market at Anloga stands out as a major hub, attracting buyers from across the region due to its large volumes of onion sales. It has become a key contributor to the local economy and a source of livelihood for many families.

To further support farmers, the Assembly has introduced a monthly market at its forecourt. This initiative allows farmers to sell their organic produce directly to consumers, promoting healthy eating and supporting the growth of organic farming in the municipality.

These markets not only provide access to food and goods but also contribute to economic growth and community development in Oforikrom.
