Gomoa Dawurampong polyclinic inaugurated

Wednesday 22nd August, 2018 was a joyous and memorable moment for residents of Gomoa Dawurampong in the Gomoa West District following the inauguration of their long awaited health facility.

This is a project which was started in 2016 by the previous administration and was continued by the current government from the foundation level, and with the help of the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Alex Abban and District Chief Executive, Hon Bismark Baisie Nkum the project was completed and furnished with the necessary equipment.

Inaugurating the facility, the Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang Manu said the edifice is here to help in effective health delivery, thus curbing the menace of rushing patients to Apam before having access to proper health care where most at times casualties are recorded.



It's also there to prevent maternal and post maternal mortalities. “We need both pregnant women and their babies safe, and at least every new born baby must be able to celebrate his/her 5th birthday”.

The Minister handed over the keys to Dr Nsia Asare where he also passed it on to the Central Regional Director of Health Services then to the District Health Director, Dr Amuzu.



In his acceptance speech, he promised to ensure that the facility will be well kept, managed and maintained to provide continuous and effective health care.

The administration and nurses were cautioned not to portray bad attitude towards the patients as well as not to charge illegal fees.



The chiefs and the general public were also charged to play active role in keeping the facility clean always, and abide by the rules and regulations when they attend clinic for health care.

Present were the DCE, Bismark Baisie Nkum, and Alex Abban, MP.
