Confirming the news to Accra based Asempa Fm today, Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. O. B. Amoah, noted that the DCE has been asked to as a matter of urgency handover to the Central regional minister, Hon. Kwamena Duncan latest by close of today.

His suspension, according to the deputy comes after the DCE made comments suggesting that the deceased and his other colleagues were in the area to protect illegal Chinese miners, a statement that is contrary to the Military High Command’s claims that they were rather in the area on an anti-galamsey mission.

The young Soldier was killed by an angry mob at Denkyira-Obuasi, a mining community in the central region when was on his routine morning jogging.

He was mistaken for an armed robber and lynched to death.
