Among the chiefs visited include the Gulumpe Chief, Kadelso Chief, Babatorkuma chief, Kurawura chief, Dawadawa chief, Alhassan Akura chief, Kawampe chief and Portor chief.
These chieftaincy problems are said to be in these communities particularly Portor for the past six years.
The Minister, addressing the chiefs said “to ensure development, the Kintampo Muncipality needs peace”.
He said the major problem hindering Kintampo North is the constant fights among chiefs in our various communities which is compelling the Assembly to use almost all their funds in combating war among ourselves.
He added that, whatever issues they are having in their communities, should it be land or chieftaincy dispute should be sent to the court, instead of fighting to distract peace and that, it is illegal to sell land twice. He urged chiefs who are having misunderstanding among themselves to send the matter to court and get gazetted to be recognized. HE also advised that any chieftaincy issue can also be addressed by the regional house of chiefs.
“I would not take it light with chiefs that use people to course problem in the communities. Anybody caught in that act of using people to course trouble, the law will work on that person and the chief who sent that person”.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Kintampo North Mr. Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw expressed his gratitude to the chiefs for coming in a short notice given them.
He said Regional Minister’s visit is to help solve the long time misunderstanding on chieftaincy issues which the Municipality is battling with, and was very much grateful to the Minister for intervening to help in the resolution of their differences. He urged them to cooperate so that the municipality would be the best in Bono East in terms of development, for the municipality is lacking behind.
