According to Mr. Agyei Da-Costa in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com after the handing over ceremony last Sunday, the community was having a big challenge with toilet facility and for that reason most people in the community resorted to open defecation which exposed the people to generating unnecessary stench and causing many diseases.

"A community like Asuotiano with a population of about 5000 can only boost of a single toilet facility at the outskirts of the community which was constructed by one Nana Adwoa Takyiwaa, the immediate past Regional Women Organizer of the National Democratic Congress some years ago.

Myself being the assembly member tabled this problem to the then MCE in 2010 as I was voted to represent the people of my electoral area but nothing was done, the current MCE once invited me to plan how we could resolve this problem" he explained.

Agyei Da-Costa added that "I decided to initiate the construction of this facility hoping it could attract others to support after asking myself what can I do to help curb the situation but I kept on dreaming as my efforts to get the assembly and other stakeholders on board proved futile, so I have to dig into my life savings as a teacher to get the project completed".

The Assembly Member who is also a teacher at the Dormaa Senior High School claims he has not regreted undertaking the project, adding that it has always been his wish to do something to benefit others and has been supportive to the community since he assumed office including providing borehole to the community.

He said "We all know the government alone can't provide all that we need to survive that is why we as a citizens must also contribute our quota to the development of the nation, please let’s do our best to take good care of the facility".

Receiving the keys to the facility, Adwoa Nketia I, the queenmother of the community flanked by the Gyaasehene expressed her sincere gratitude to Mr. Agyei Da-Costa for the kind gesture he has selflessly initiated among other projects.

She then called on the people to be united and work together whiles protecting the project as well.
