He was responding to concerns raised by some Assembly members and people in the district about sanitation issues.

The Assembly member for Dome Agogo Electoral Area in Dormaa Akwamu, Mr Dennis Oppong Kyeremeh, had appealed to the Assembly to ensure the contractor completed a toilet project in time for use and to help remove a refuse dump that posed a health threat to the people.

The DCE noted that poor sanitation “is a challenge in the District and though the Assembly is facing financial difficulties, we have budgeted for the evacuation of all refuse dumps in the area this year”.

He said the Assembly was working tirelessly to resolve such problems in the area in spite of financial constraints.

Mr Agyemang disclosed the toilet project fell under the 1 million dollar per constituency project under the Middle Belt Development Authority and the Assembly was in contact with them for supervision before its completion and handing over.
