DAFFIAMA: Kpari-Baayiri bridge construction nears completion

Construction work on the Kpari-Baayiri main Bridge in the Daffiama/Bussie/Issa district of the Upper West Region is nearing completion to enhance transportation in the area.

The bridge, when duly completed is expected to aid trade, reduce accidents and improve transportation and development in diverse ways across the district.

Work was seriously ongoing when District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Mr Nadi Imoro Sanda paid a working visit to the project site today.

The DCE, who spoke in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com after the visit, lauded government for the project which he said, will bring a sigh of relief to residents of the two communities.

According to him, the development will enable residents to have all-season access to both sides of the village, as well as to basic services and markets in the cities.

He said, in the past, their access to the other side of the village was almost entirely blocked during the raining season due to the bad nature of the bridge and thus urged contractors to expedite work on the project to help complete on time.

He concluded by reiterating that, work was seriously ongoing on the project, adding that the facility will help ease transportation situations in the area.
