A voting process that saw all the 30 assembly members’ present and taking part in the voting,

Mr. Yaw Danso polled 28 yes votes representing 93.3 percent of the total votes cast as against 2 no votes.

Having obtained more than the required two-third majority he became the new District Chief Executive for the area.

He thanked the president for the hounour done in nominating him and also to the assembly members for reposing confidence in him by confirming him. 

He called for unity of purpose among all and sundry including the assembly members, assembly staff, chiefs and opinion leaders so that they can work together to find solutions to the many challenges confronting the distinct. 

Mr. Danso promised to uplift the image of the district whilst working in line with the President’s vision to industrialize the local economy.

“Our district is lagging behind, we are going to work together to improve the situation,” he assured the assembly members.

Amidst tight security, the exercise was supervised by some government officials led by the Ashanti regional minister, Simon Osei Mensah and his Deputy, Elizabeth Agyemang.

Other regional executives of the ruling party also canvassed the thirty assembly members to vote and approve the nominee, Yaw Danso.
