This action has been necessitated by the fact that as the flood levels recede, families have initiated processes to return to their various houses in order to resume normal life.
Due to the high levels of pollution in the flood waters, it has become expedient for the various communities and facilities to be fumigated and disinfected in order to prevent any outbreak of diseases.
Mr. Divine Fenu , District Chief Executive of the North Tongu, speaking at a briefing session before the commencement of the exercise, reiterated the district’s heartfelt appreciation for the support received so far from the Volta River Authority.
He further indicated that a team had been in place to assess the structural integrity of affected buildings and other structures. The exercise commenced at Mepe on Sunday, October 29, 2023, and is expected to be replicated in all affected districts.
