He made the call through the Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, during a visit to the Constituency to assess the situations caused by the spillage on education.

Mr. Ablakwa said there was a need for the government to provide teachers with a comfortable teaching environment while measures were being taken to address the disaster.

He noted that more than 1,000 teachers had been displaced while most of the schools in the Constituency remained closed since the flood.

Mr Ablakwa said it was alarming to see many teachers vacate their posts due to the situation at hand.

He said the provision of the items needed for the teachers would provide a bit of a comfortable environment while they prepare the students for academic activities.

Dr. Adutwum said the government acknowledged the plight teachers and students faced as a result of the disaster.

He said the government would work around the clock to address the immediate concerns in the sector.

A Junior High School student, Kafui Lawui revealed that the disruption in academic activities was a sad one and as a victim, he found it difficult to prepare himself for examinations.
