Asutifi North overwhelmingly confirms President's nominee

Assembly Members at Asutifi North District Assembly in the Brong Ahafo Region have voted overwhelmingly to confirm the Presidents nominee for the position of the District Chief Executive.

Mr. Anthony Mensah obtained a 100% vote as all the 36 assembly members voted for him. Until his nominated was a teacher and also served as the NPP research officer in the constituency.  Earlier before the confirmation exercise, the assembly also elected Ebenezer Addo as its Presiding Member, He polled 34 votes representing 89.5% as against two votes against his contest.

 

 

Representatives of Kenyasi No. 1, Kenyasi No 2, and Ntotroso traditional councils appealed for calm and unity to foster the area's development.  They therefore with voice urged the house to endorse the nominee.

The Regional Minister Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh for his part, said development of the districts was paramount and tasked the house not disappoint the president and the region because of the wide consultation that the president did with all stakeholders.  He therefore appealed for a massive vote. 

 

 

The new DCE Anthony Mensah commended the President for the confidence response in him and the overwhelming endorsement of the assembly members and pledged to bring development to the area.

 

 

He called for the support from all stakeholders in the districts to enable him initiate and implement interventions that be bring the much needed development.
