ASUTIFI N: Stephen K Baah elected PM

Assembly members of the Asutifi North District Assembly in the Brong Ahafo have elected Mr Stephen K Baah as their Presiding Member (PM). He obtained 27 votes  in an election which was heavily supervised by the District’s Electoral Commissioner, Mr Baimah Batong.

His closest contender, Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, the incumbent, only garnered 10 votes whiles one Elisha Adu- Bonsu stepped down in the process. 

Mr Stephen K Baah was later sworn into office by the District Magistrate Court Judge. 

 

 

In his acceptance speech, Mr Baah commended the members for the confidence reposed in him to stir the affairs of the assembly for the next four years tenure.

He called for unity among themselves by working in harmony to ensure the marching forward of the District.

As part of efforts to show his readiness to serve the people, Mr. Baah introduced an Award scheme to be presented to the most outstanding assembly members and promised to use his allowance to sponsor it. 

The District Chief Executive, Mr. Anthony Mensah, in a speech, also congratulated Mr. Baah for emerging as the winner in the tightly contested elections. He also thanked assembly members for embracing peace and also showing tolerance for one another throughout the process.

 

 

On his part, outgone PM Ebenezer Kwaku Addo conceded defeat and promised to work hand in hand with the new PM to help accerelate development.
