ActionPlus Foundation educates traders, hawkers in Makola on COVID-19

Traders and hawkers at Makola Market in Accra were taken by surprise as ActionPlus Foundation paid them a courtesy visit last Wednesday to educate them on how to help contain the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the foundation, Miss. Grace Afi Hadzor, who led the team revealed that their objective is to help sensitize the traders on the need to prevent coming into contact with the virus which has affected the lives of some people in the country as well as claiming the lives of several others.

"The only way we can win the fight against COVID-19 is to strictly observe the health protocols outlined by the world health organization adopted by the government of Ghana which includes the observation of social distancing, wearing of nose mask, sanitizing our hands frequently and washing our hands under running water with soap".

She cautioned the traders to always adhere to the protocols, insisting that putting the nose mask on the chick should not be encouraged. She also encouraged the frequent use of hand sanitizer because of the nature of their job where the exchange of money which could be a factor to contract the deadly disease is the order of the day.



The foundation after the education donated some Personal Protective Equipment like Veronica bucket, hand sanitizers, nose mask liquid soap among others to the traders.

The world-leading non-governmental organization which has made health advocacy its priority again donated some COVID-19 relief items to the Striking Force Unit of the Ghana Police Service. The items included three dustbins, five Veronica buckets, ten pieces of five liters liquid soap, one hundred pieces of hand sanitizers, five hundred nose mask, and forty-six tissues is to supplement the government’s efforts in fighting the global pandemic.



With joy, the Unit Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammed Keita expressed their profound gratitude to the founder of the organization Apostle Fred Osei Annin, for his kind intervention, promising to use the PPEs for its intended purpose to help contain the spread of the virus.
