Asokore Mampong gets another health facility
In view of making health accessibility easier to residents in the Asokore Mampong municipality, the assembly has added a new health facility to existing ones at Asokore Mampong.

The Assembly has taken over the two story building, the down floor while used to host the Municipal Health Directorate, and moved the directorate to the upper floor, while the down floor has been used to establish a new health facility.
The new facility comes with offices for the health staff, labour ward, out patients’ wards, consulting rooms, among others.
Inaugurating the facility, the Municipal Chief Executive for Asokore Mampong, Alhaji Alidu Seidu expressed regret that a municipality with over 360,000 population is without a hospital, adding that working to ensure the municipality gets its own hospital has been their focus since he assumed office.
However, before that is achieved, they intend to add more health facilities to existing ones at various locations in the municipality to serve the health needs of the people. This focus, he noted resulted in the new facility thy have newly commissioned. He also disclosed that other communities would follow soon.
He appealed to the health professionals to serve the people well, and exhibit high maintenance culture to keep the facility well in shape.
He raised concerns about indiscriminate disposals of waste in the community and warned of dire consequences for those engaged in such practices, adding, the municipality would by the close of the year gazette its bye-laws which would be enforced to the latter to keep their surroundings clean.
The Municipal Health Director, Justice Ofori was grateful for the efforts in increasing the health facilities in the municipality and urged the MCE to work hard to get a municipal hospital as he has already announced.
He assured of their commitment to deliver their best to promote and keep the health of the people well to ensure healthy society that can support accelerated development.
The Chief of Asokore Mampong, Nana Smash Debrah who chaired the function also added his voice to the call for a municipal hospital.
