Sissala Districts endorse DCE nominees

Members of the Sissala East and Sissala West Districts of the Upper West Region have endorsed unbloc, the President's nominees for the position of District Chief Executives (DCEs).

The nominees, Mr Karim Nanyua, Sissala East and Mr Mohammed Bakor, Sissala West both received a 100 per cent endorsement from the 30 Assembly members who took part in the election in each of the two districts.

The two who shared age and profession in common are both 42-year-olds and both subject teachers at the Kanton Senior High School (SHS) in Tumu in the Sissala East District.

The full endorsement of the two brings to seven the number of nominees that received a 100 per cent confirmation so far out of the 11 nominees for the Upper West Region.

There are already high expectations that the remaining four districts namely, Wa West, Nadowli-Kaleo,Jirapa and Lawra Districts would emulate the example of their sister districts by giving their nominees full endorsement.

Mr. Karim Nanyua, the newly confirmed DCE for Sissala East expressed gratitude to the President and the Assembly members as well as all who contributed in diverse ways throughout the raise for the position.

He said there was no time and called on all to rally behind him so that together they could implement the vision of the President to the benefit of the people of the district.

Mr. Mohammed Bakor, newly confirmed DCE for Sissala West also thanked the President, Mr Patrick Alhassan Adama, the Member of Parliament (MP) and the Assembly members for reposing their fullest confidence in him.

He called for unity and support from all to develop the district and improve on the living standards of the people, adding that his doors were opened for all who had the development of the district at heart.

Mr. Amidu Chinnia Issahaku, Deputy Regional Minister thanked members of both houses for enhancing the agenda 100 per cent confirmation for all the President's nominees for the region.

He encouraged the remaining districts to show that unity by sealing the agenda with a full endorsement of their nominees to demonstrate the love the people of the region had for the President and his government.

Mr. Sulemana Alhassan,Upper West Regional Minister swore-in the two newly confirmed DCEs and charged them to work to justify the confidence reposed on them.
