SOKORE: Ultra-modern Astro turf pitch for Akurem

As part of measures to improve social infrastructure in the various Muslim communities in the country, popularly referred to as Zongos, a new ultra-modern Astro turf pitch is to be constructed at Akurem, a community in the Asokore Mampong Municipaliy in the Ashanti Region.

The Minister for Inner City and Zongo Development, Dr Mustapha Hamid assisted by the Municipal Chief Executive of the Asokore Mampong Municipality, Alidu Seidu cut sod to pave way for the construction of the ultra-modern facility.

The recreational facility will go a long way to boost the development of sports in the area.



The MCE in his presentation appealed to inhabitants to keep calm as government takes steps to change the face of the zongo communities.
