Aveyime Market to be revived; others to be improved
The North Tongu District Assembly is working to revive the Aveyime Market to its glorious days; this is according to the District Chief Executive, Divine Fenu.

The Aveyime Market, he noted had collapsed for a number of years now, but they have resolved to revive and revamp it, and make it a very viable market.
The DCE said it is their plan to improve the state of all their markets especially the major ones to increase economic activities in the district,
The Assembly has already constructed a number of sheds at the Battor market and paved it making it very conducive for use.
Meanwhile, fencing of the Juapong Market is also underway to ward off intruders and to keep people’s wares safe.
On building market stores, the DCE said because the Assembly doesn’t have enough funds, it is in talks with some interested investors for a public-private partnership to build the stores at the Battor market.
Currently, the Assembly is in talks with the investors to iron out the modalities before any concrete step is taken.
At Mepe, the people have released land for the establishment of their market which is in the Assembly’s action plan.
