SEKYERE A P: PWDs benefit from disability funds

Persons with disabilities (PWDs) living in the Sekyere Afram Plains district have benefited from the disability fund set aside for them by the government to grant them health care support and also to empower them venture into sustainable business.

A total of 166 PWDs benefited from logistical support, health care assistance, farming inputs, financial assistance among others.

In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the District Chief Executive of the area, Joseph Owusu indicated that the PWDs in the district have set 4 zonal committees and by request from these committees was what was provided to them.


He said that tricycles and corn mill machines were distributed to the 4 committees to enable them venture into sustainable business which would bring profit to uplift their standard of living and welfare.



The DCE also entreated the beneficiaries to make good use of the funds and items in ways that would benefit them positively.

The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the assembly for considering them and also promised to make good use of the funds and items in ways that would benefit them.
