KNUST to partner with KMA in the area of tourism
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) had affirmed its commitment to partner with the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) in the area of tourism, city planning to ease congestion and beautification of the Kumasi City.

This was disclosed when the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson led a seven Member Management delegation to officially introduce herself to the Kumasi Mayor as the new Vice Chancellor of the University and also to reiterate the University’s readiness to collaborate with the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.
She noted that one problem that was confronting the University is inadequate hostel facilities to accommodate the high student population. She appealed to the KMA to extend support to the school when there are new projects such as hostel facilities.
Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi the Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive noted that through the partnership of KNUST, KMA was able to win the Sanitation Challenge Award and that it was through a proposal by the KNUST that impelled VIP and Zoomlion to donate 2 Compact trucks to the Assembly.
He added that the 17 departments of the Assembly would collaborate with the University to achieve homogeneity.
The mayor then promised that the KMA will market the School to the International Community for opportunities.
