PWDs receive share of common fund

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Wa East District Assembly, Mr. Moses Jotie presented funds and logistical support worth GHs 75, 584 to Sixty Four (64) Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the area.

The recipients consist of Thirty-One (31) Females and Thirty-Three (33) Males.

Speaking at a short event, the DCE admonished the recipients to endeavour to maximize the use of the resources, to leap out of poverty.

Mr Jotie indicated that the essence of the PWDs share of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) is to enable them live independent and dignified lives, and not to be dependent on any statutory Fund or Person.

He stated that, the Disability Fund Management Committee will attach priority attention to the provision of employable skills for PWDs.

The DCE was supported by the District Coordinating Director, Mr Edward Darre Chebere and the Disability Fund Management Committee.
