Afigya Kwabre North NADMO supports fire victims

The National Disaster Management Organization in Afigya Kwabre North District has presented relief items to some selected fire victims and others whose buildings have been vandalized by the rainstorm.

Mr.Nana Boakye Yiadom, the District NADMO director noted that the 15 selected beneficiaries are victims of fire outbreak and victims affected by rainstorm adding that the fire outbreak and the rainstorm affected Abroma, Esaase, Amoako, Danase, Habitat, and Boamang communities and destroyed properties of over 35 residents living in District.

Items include 100 bags of cements,10 packets of roofing sheets, bags of rice, assorted soap, blankets, cooking oil, mosquito nets, mosquito coils, mattresses, plastic buckets were presented to the victims.

The head of the NADMO team called on the public to be mindful of handling fires to minimize the occurrence of fire outbreaks and also put all their electrical gadgets off after usage and when leaving the house.

The beneficiaries commended the NADMO team and then called on the government to give more resources to the agencies managing disasters in the country to ensure their prompt and efficient operation.
