He said, he was committed to work with and run an open-door administration that would not entertain any act of backbiting attitude from staff, "as such attitudes only thwart our efforts to provide basic and efficient services to the people we are to serve".
In a durbar to welcome the Assembly staff, he admonished them to refrain from acts of politicisation in the discharge of their duties.

Mr Arthur said the vision of the District was to become a model one hence the need for a responsive public servants that eschewed selfishness while giving the best of services to clients of the assembly, to meet the high expectation people have for the assembly and the government.

He said the new brand of the assembly was discipline, commitment to work and productivity, explaining that the assembly would soon receive time clocking machine from the local government service to ensure accurate reporting and closing time of staff.

Touching on dress code to work, the DCE called on staff to dress appropriately to march the office and the position they occupied.

Mr Samuel Owusu- Andoh, District Coordinating Director was happy to have all staff back to work and wished them well in the New Year.

He informed the staff to brace themselves up for possible transfers as the Assembly was working out plans to do so.

He however, urged the staff to submit their appraisals by 15th of January, stressing that appraisals were not only necessary when attending promotional interviews but a requirement for all staff at the beginning of every year.

Mr Owusu-Andoh appealed to staff to rid their departments of divisive tendencies for the harmonious operation of the Assembly and for the development of the District.

He bemoaned the misuse of public facilities and equipment, saying that the situation where gadgets were left on unused only gave the assembly more bills which could have been channelled into other activities.

Mr Owusu-Andoh appealed to the staff to limit their demand for allowances in spite of the fact that it was their right, adding that the assembly could no longer sustain it, since only 10 percent of the common fund (DACF) allocation could be used for allowances and would therefore not compromise using internally generated funds to top up the payment of allowances.

The Coordinating Director gave an assurance that the DCE had made enough allocation in the 2018-2021 Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP) of the assembly to provide office equipment for the smooth operation of staff and appealed for care in the usage of the equipment.
