Assembly donates furniture to education directorate

The Effutu Municipal Assembly has presented 500 dual desks and some staff chairs to the district education directorate for onwards distribution to some basic schools in the municipality.

Alhaji Zubairu Kassim, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), presenting the items on behalf of the Assembly, said the provision of the items would ensure children learn in a conducive environment and a testimony of the Assembly’s resolve to improve facilities in all basic schools in the district.

He said the furniture would also impact on teaching and learning to improve performance of pupils in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

He, however, appealed to school authorities in need of such facilities to officially inform the Assembly and the Education Directorate to enable it respond to their needs accordingly.

Mrs. Mabel Judith Micah, the District Director of Education received the furniture on behalf of the Ghana Education Service (GES) and expressed profound gratitude to the Assembly for its unalloyed support to bring quality education to the door-step of all regardless of one’s location.

She entreated all the beneficiary head teachers to ensure timely maintenance of the furniture in order to prolong their lifespan.
