Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam to benefit from District Development Fund

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has allocated 467,699.12 Ghana cedis to the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Assembly under the Functional Operational Assessment Tool (FOAT) under the District Development Fund.

The District Chief Executive, Mr Peter Light Koomson, said this followed the Assembly's good performance in 2008 and also passed the FOAT assessment criteria for the District Development Fund (DDF).

He said 433,000 Ghana cedis from the fund would be spent on projects and these include the five-kilometre Trebu-Bisease feeder road, one pre-school block, offices and a store.

Others are one pre-school block, office, store and 4-seat KVIP at Anomabo KG, Assasan Catholic JHS, Babianiha JHS and Essiam Ahmadiyya JHS and KG.

Mr Koomson said 37,699.12 out of the fund had been set aside for capacity building of staff and assembly members.

He said the assembly was supporting the Ghana Education Service and the National Youth Employment Programme to train 90 Community Teaching Assistants.

Mr Koomson said the Badukrom Junction/Sonkwaa, Enyan-Maim/Enyan Apaa, Assasan/Essaman and Kwasi Gyan No. 1/Opepease roads had been awarded on contract under the improvement programme of the Local Service Delivery and Government Programme (LSDGP).
