Wassa Amenfi East Assembly holds first stakeholder meeting
The Wassa Amenfi East Municipal Assembly, in pursuance of its mandate to ensure equitable distributions of resources in the Municipality, organised a stakeholder meeting on Tuesday, 7th January 2020 to review its planned activities for 2020.

The stakeholders were drawn from the Municipal Assembly comprising of firms, Media, Government departments, agency as well as the general public.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Ms. Helena Appiah in her opening remarks expressed gratitude to all for making time to attend the meeting. She mentioned projects the Assembly executed in 2019.
The meeting was for the dissemination of information on the review of the status of implementation of 2019 Annual Action Plan of the Assembly, the outline of the 2020 Annual Action Plan of the Assembly and the Revenue and Expenditure Performance of the Municipal Assembly for 2019 financial year.
The Municipal Development Planning Officer, Mr. Malcolm Yendaw took the gathering through the projects and programmes in the 2019 Annual Action plan. The total programme and projects in the plan was 92. Out of the 92 projects and programmes, 67 were completed Whiles 25 were on-going. This represented 72% of the total projects and programmes executed in the 2019 Annual Action Plan.
The Municipal Planning Officer also presented the 2020 Annual Action Plan of the Assembly. The total programme and projects in the plan were 101. He informed the gathering that on-going projects in 2019 were rolled over onto the 2020 Annual Action plan.
The Municipal Finance Officer Mr. Joel Bart-Barko also presented the Revenue and Expenditure Performance of the Assembly for the 2019 financial year.
He said the Assembly generated its revenue from Rates, Lands, Rents, Licenses, Fees, Fines and Gants. It was noted that the Assembly generated 63% of the revenue targeted for the period. Suggestions and contributions were made from the stakeholders on how the Assembly could improve its revenue and development in the Municipality.
In conclusion the Municipal Coordinating Director Mr., Bernard K. P. Sakyiama thanked the stakeholders for their contribution and inputs which would go a long way to assist the Municipality to achieve its vision.
