Tano North MCE visits BECE centres

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tano North Municipal Assembly (TNMA) Ernest Kwarteng has urged the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the Municipality to write their papers with confidence and make their families and municipality proud.

The MCE, accompanied by the Municipal Director for Education, Mrs. Veronica A. Adu-Saforo and other dignitaries visited some of the centres to show support and to encourage the candidates prior to the start of their papers.

Starting his tour from Duayaw Nkwanta, he made a visit to Serwaa Kesse Senior High School Centre, where nine (9) schools had sat for the exams. Eight of the schools were public schools with one private school. The centre had a total number of two hundred and forty one (241) candidates of which three (3) candidates were absent. Efforts were made by the MCE to locate the whereabouts of these candidates.

Boakye Tromo Senior High School was the next centre to be visited. Eight (schools had sat for the exams with a total of three hundred and sixty (360) candidates.

Five (5) out of the total number were absent. Headmasters of the absentees were phoned to ascertain why those candidates were absent.

Addressing the candidates at both centres, the MCE gave them the assurance that their Families and Municipality were strongly behind them therefore they should do well and make them proud.

The MCE’s working visit will be extended to other exam centres in the coming days.
