The Omanhene made these clarifications during the Traditional Council's third COVID 19 meeting held at the palace of the Benkum Division of Boso Gua Traditional Area in Nanyor.

The meeting which was to brainstorm the way forward to contain the coronavirus pandemic saw the presence of all divisional, sub-chiefs and opinion leaders in the traditional state.

In an interview with a local radio station Rite FM last week the District Chief Executive Samuel Kwame Agyekum alleged stated that the District Assembly has as measures to contain the coronavirus in the District donated some five Veronica buckets and some PPEs to the Boso Gua Traditional Area.

However, the Paramount Chief categorically debunks the allegations explaining that the traditional authority first received only one Veronica bucket from government, and two others were received later last week.

"We as traditional opinion leaders will do our best to prevent the virus from entering the Boso Gua land with or without government support, by so doing we are in the process of procuring about 5000 hand sanitizers for mass distribution in all our communities and villages as we have already distributed about two thousand nose masks and other Veronica bucket".

He also expressed his gratitude to the sons and daughters of the land for their enthusiasm to help fight the virus as they have started donating their quota to fight the pandemic.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com the Benkumhene of the Boso Gua State Obirentire Gyau Ahima VI, who was aggrieved about the conduct of the District Chief Executive described him as a selective leader who does not care about the well-being of his subjects.

"The DCE is very selective, Asuogyaman District consists of three traditional authority, can the DCE tell Ghanaians that he sent only three or one Veronica bucket to the Akwamumanhene, so why are you threatening us as if we are slaves in the District. Tell him we are custodians of our land and he should accord us with that respect".

On his part the Nifahene of the traditional state Oboasor Asare Kwadwo VIII, couldn't hide his frustration as he advised the District Chief Executive to be circumspect on his choice of words reminding him of the powers of the traditional authority.
