The Municipal Chief Executive, Dr John Osei at the inaugural ceremony tasked the team to embark on public campaign to educate the people in the Municipality on the impending district level elections and Referendum.

He noted that the government is expecting Ghanaians to vote YES for the referendum to deepen multi party democracy and this has called for the need for a team to move to churches, organisations, mosque and all the public places in the municipality to explain to citizenry the details on the Referendum and the rationale behind the advocacy for a YES vote.

The team was asked to bring out strategies and plan as to how the information can get to the people.

The members of the team include the Municipal Director for National Commission for Civic Education, the Municipal Director for Information Service Department and the Municipal Public Relations Officer.

The MCE also appealed to them to kick start their work as soon as possible since the time scheduled for the referendum is close.
