Suame Municipal Assembly organizes ‘Meet the Press’ series

The Municipal Chief Executive of Suame, Dr. John Osei Bobie Boahen has outlined some current and old projects of the Assembly at a 'Meet the Press' held at the Assembly's Conference Room.

The list of projects include classroom blocks, ICT and Library centres, physiotherapy centres, clinics at Suame Magazine and Kwapra, Abattoir and court office complex, Adadiem market, nurses quarters at Breman SDA Hospital, drains and road construction at Breman and UGC, Abusuakrowah, Maakro, Adadiem among others.

He also listed some old and current projects which were facilitated by the MP's Social Fund. He was emphatic that the member of parliament (MP) of the area Mr. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has awarded scholarships to over 120 students while the Assembly gave 54 through the government's decentralized Scholarship through the Scholarship Secretariat financial support scheme.



Under the Government's flagship programs, the MCE indicated that the Assembly has secured acres of land at Kyekyere in the Afigya Sekyere South District for cultivation of maize and other products under the planting for food and jobs initiative.

The Agric Director of the Municipality, Mr Nyarko indicated that the government is also supporting individuals interested in poultry to go into broiler production. He added that the Assembly has also started the cultivation of rice along the streams and waterlogged areas in the Municipality to support the government flagship programs under Agriculture.



Dr. Bobie Boahen also indicated that every foreigner who is either working or residing in Suame is safe if such person is registered with the Assembly. He noted that the foreign community was asked last year to register with the Assembly to ensure that the Assembly protects them.

He urged foreigners to come to the Assembly and seek for document and their presence in the municipality in order to ensure their safety and also assured that the Assembly will see to it that Ghana Union of Traders’ Association (GUTA) and the foreigners adhere to the laws and good practices to bring peace to the Municipality.
