The support was presented during a disability fund programme held at Jachie Main Street on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, with beneficiaries receiving various items to help them establish or expand their businesses.

The programme brought together the District Chief Executive (DCE), Assembly officials, the Chief and elders of Jachie, the Assembly Member, Social Welfare officers, leaders of the PWD community, beneficiaries and other community members.

Items distributed included deep freezers, sewing machines, fufu-pounding machines, laptops, startup capital and other work tools to enable beneficiaries to engage in productive economic activities and generate income.

The intervention forms part of efforts to empower Persons with Disabilities by providing them with resources to develop their skills, establish sustainable businesses and improve their standard of living.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the District Assembly and the government for the support, noting that the items would help them pursue their economic activities and work towards greater financial independence.

The initiative also highlights the importance of inclusive development and creating opportunities for Persons with Disabilities to participate meaningfully in the local economy.
