He, however, assured that he and his people are ready support the MCE and whatever way including prayers to ensure she succeeds as the first female MCE for Ejisu from the National Democratic Party (NDC).
The chief made these remarks when the MCE and her entourage called upon him and his elders at Ohenediem, a farming community in the Ejisu municipality; during the community engagement meant to thank the chiefs and people for their massive support during the December 2024 elections and to solicit their inputs for the resetting agenda.
For the Chief, their major problem is the mountain of refuse at the dumping site. They do not have refuse containers for that purpose so, refuse is dumped on the ground and it has heaped up; hence his plea for its evacuation and provision of refuse containers for the community.
The community also lacks potable drinking water, a market and basic school. This, Nana reiterated that though the MCE already has a lot to deliver, he would be glade if issues with the refuse and provision of potable water could be sorted out for them first..jpg)
For the people of Domeabra, the Krontihene, Nana Opoku Agyemang who stood in for the Chief, disclosed that though the even before assumption of office, roofed the basic school building for yet like Oliver, they ask for more.
According to him, a modern market would boost trading activities as the community has opened up to link adjoining suburbs of greater Kumasi. Besides, additional school block is needed to contain the huge numbers of pupils and students of the basic school, reconstruction of broken bridge in front of the chief’s palace, grading of access roads, potable mechanized public borehole to provide water at affordable price for the populace compared to private; a community centre and an astro tuff to engage the youth in games so that they don’t indulge in drugs.
The MCE, on her part, reiterated her commitment to toeing the path of her boss the President of the republic, HE John Dramani Mahama of resetting the economy of the country including all other sectors. As such, she promised to provide these two communities with potable water as a matter of urgency; while assuring them of her willingness to construct a new classroom block for the basic, a place of convenience and the market among others within the 4year tenure.
The Hon. MCE encouraged community members to take advantage of the many social interventions the government has provided including support for PWDs, LEAP for the extreme poor and vulnerable, scholarship programme for students and availability job opportunities in the security services.
She urged that once interested individuals fill the forms online, they can give her a copy of it to assist them in get them enrolled in the security services. Besides, those interested in learning any trade of their choice are free to enroll in the national apprenticeship programme where the total cost of training and start-up kits would be taken care of the government
