Minister cuts the sod to construct state of art community information centre

The Minister for Communications, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has cut the sod for the commencement of the construction of 30-seater state of the Art Community Information Centres (CIC’s ) at Akyem Asuom in the Kwaebibirem Municipality.

Addressing the gathering during, the Minister elaborated that, the CIC's which will be built across the country is an initiative of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication (GIFEC).

Its completion will serve as a learning centre for the public and students and enable them to access various e-Learning Tools and Platforms even if they don’t have internet at home.

The Minster used the medium to call on District Assemblies, Members of Parliament, Public spirited individuals and Corporate Organizations to partner Government through GIFEC to ensure that every under-served and unserved community in the country becomes part of the digital society.

She entreated all beneficiary communities to protect and maintain this facility when completed. She ended by showing gratitude to Osaberima Ofosuhene Apenteng II (Asuom Hene) and his traditional leaders, the Kwaebibrem Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Seth Antwi Boasiako, GIFEC Administrator, Mr. Abraham Kofi Asante and the entire Assembly for making this dream a reality.
