The initiative forms part of the Directorate's commitment to ensuring equitable access to healthcare services for residents, particularly those living in remote and riverine communities across the district.

According to reports from the Ghana Health Service, health workers have been conducting regular mobile clinic exercises to provide essential healthcare services, health education, maternal and child healthcare, disease surveillance and immunisation services to underserved populations.

The outreach programme has become increasingly important in communities where residents face challenges accessing healthcare facilities due to long travel distances and transportation constraints.

As part of the vaccination drive, health personnel have collaborated with community leaders and volunteers to reach children and vulnerable groups in isolated settlements. The strategy has helped improve vaccine uptake and strengthened disease prevention efforts within the district.

The District Health Directorate has also continued to implement community-based health interventions aimed at reducing the burden of preventable diseases and improving overall health outcomes among residents.

Health officials say the mobile clinic initiative complements government efforts to achieve universal health coverage by ensuring that no community is left behind in accessing quality healthcare services.

The Directorate has encouraged residents to actively participate in immunisation exercises and other public health programmes to help safeguard the health and wellbeing of communities throughout the district.
