Nanumba South: DCE and Monitoring Team inspect SIGRA project site

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Nanumba South District Abdul Rashid Musah has inspected Strengthening In Gender-Responsive Climate Adaptation (SIGRA) site.

SIGRA is a Government of Canada funded project aimed at improving the resilience of Ghanaian Citizens through increased investments in inclusive and gender-responsive climate adaptation initiatives.

It seeks to promote transparency, accountability and inclusion, and foster collaboration between women-led civil society organizations (CSO) and all levels of Government on the planning, implementation, and reporting on climate adaptation investments.


SIGRA operates in five Districts within two regions in the country. SIGRA operates two Districts in the Volta Region and three in the Northern Region.

In the Northern Region SIGRA operates in the Nanumba South District, Mion District and the Kumbumgu District.

SIGRA's main focus is on vegetable cultivation in the Dry Season and Climate change. The project is targeted by Vulnerables Women.

This is also a source of employment for the good people of Wulensi and Nakpayili as well. It is also a source of Income for the Beneficiaries.
