WGMA Inaugurates Weija Zonal Council
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, has charged the newly elected councilors of the Weija Zonal Council to be responsive to the needs of the people they have pledged to serve.

Hon. Patrick Kumor (MCE), was speaking at the inauguration of the Weija Zonal Council on Tuesday, 16th February 2021, at the forecourt of the Zonal Council, Weija.
He said the zonal council, as set up by L I 1967 of 2010 of the Local Government Act, performs specific and other such functions as may be delegated by the Municipal Assembly.
He asked them to be mindful of their interactions with the members of the communities they have been elected to serve.
The inauguration was attended by the chiefs and elders of Weija, Oblogo and Tetegu.
The Presiding Member of the Municipal Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Oduro Ampaw and all the Assembly Members, together with the Unit Committee Members were present.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs. Mercy Quansah Ogoe, who welcomed all to the inauguration, said governance is being brought to the doorsteps of the people.
She stated that the Municipal Assembly is fulfilling that mandate with the inauguration of the zonal council.
She asked all to support the zonal council to succeed.
The swearing of the oath of office, allegiance and secrecy by the fifteen (15) councilors was administered by the Municipal Chief Executive.
Hon. Francis Sankofi Antwi, Assembly Member for Oblogo Electoral Area, was elected unopposed as the chairman of the zonal council.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Francis Antwi pledged to work together with his team to make Weija-Gbawe municipality and the Weija Zonal Council greater than it is now.
