Municipal Chief Executive Stresses Importance of Menstrual Hygiene
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for New Juaben North, Hon. Samuel Adongo, emphasized the critical role of good menstrual hygiene practices during this year’s observance of World Menstrual Hygiene Day.

Speaking on the theme, “Together for a Period-Friendly World,” the MCE urged young girls to prioritize menstrual hygiene, highlighting its impact on building self-confidence and enhancing academic performance.

Hon. Adongo reassured the girls of his commitment to empowering them to reach their full potential. He stressed the need to intensify education on menstrual hygiene to dispel harmful myths and to support the government’s successful implementation of the “One Girl, One Pad” project.

Approximately 500 sanitary pads, provided by the Member of Parliament for New Juaben North Constituency, Hon. Osei Adjei, were distributed to selected schools in the municipality.

The event was attended by the former MCE, Hon. Comfort Asante, health professionals, representatives from the Education Directorate, Gender Desk Officers, students, and members of the media.
