DCE inaugurates District Elections Security Taskforce
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Asuogyaman District Assembly, Mr Samuel Kwame Agyekum, has inaugurated the Asuogyaman District Elections Security Taskforce for the 17th December District level elections.

The inauguration took place at the District Assembly's hall.
Hon. Samuel Kwame Agyekum in his keynote address urged the District Election Security Taskforce to be transparent and fair in the execution of their mandate, that is, before, during and after the indispensable election related activities next month.
He also mentioned that the Taskforce will be a standing committee after next month's assignment, to perform similar function in the 2020 general elections.
Superintendent Ben Aniah, who is the Chairman for the task force, expressed his gratitude to the DCE for taking steps to constitute the task force.
He also mentioned that the committee will diligently discharge its duties devoid of any organizational or political inclination in order to maintain the current peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed by the constituents of the District and Ghana as a whole.
The Senior Police Officer also stated that, his committee will solicit assistance from stakeholders and members of the general public including the media towards a successful stewardship.
Key amongst the functions of the Taskforce is to ensure an overall security of the elections; secure the safe transport and storage of ballot materials to police stations; ensure the arrest and prosecution of election offenders and see to the amicable settlement of minor complaints.
