Mr. Coleman made the call when a team comprised of MCE, the Municipal Coordinating Director, the Urban Roads Engineer, the Municipal Physical Planning Officer, the Municipal Finance Officer and the Municipal Works Engineer met with the owners of an ongoing multi-story building located at Egua-Ekyir (Swedru main Market). Concern Youth of Agonaman, who had previously raised red flags on the ongoing projects, were also present.
Following a lengthy deliberations among all parties, the owners agreed to demolish the portion of the property that extends to the road while adhering to the assembly's initial permit plan.
The MCE used the opportunity to inform the market women about the dangers of road encroachment and the upcoming decongestion exercise along the streets which will be carried out by the Assembly soon.
