Bonaa to get new classroom block

The Wa East District Assembly has moved in to complete a 3-unit classroom block project at Bonaa to create a suitable teaching and learning environment for students in the community.

In an interview with Ghanadistrict.com, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Mr Jotie Moses stated that, the assembly has officially been advised to complete all ongoing projects before awarding contract for new projects.

Mr. Jotie said, this is the new directive giving by the government to ensure that no new projects are undertaken without the completion of old ones. “We have taken very bold steps in effecting payment to contractors to go back to complete the old uncompleted projects scattered across the district” the DCE noted.

He however, stated that there is an urgent need to provide a classroom block for most communities.

He said the assembly is also making efforts to rehabilitate a 6- unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Manwe.

The assembly, he noted is devoted to invest heavily in terms of completing ongoing school blocks and building new ones to help improve education.
