KETU S: VFL - Ghana is willing to empower persons ready to learn - Dzifa Gomashie

Former Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Dzifa Abla Gomashie has pledged to support all persons ready to learn within the Ketu South Municipality and beyond.

Madam Gomashie gave the assurance at the closing ceremony of a one week reading clinic for students and skills development projects for the aged and the youths organized by her foundation, Value for Life (VFL-Ghana) at Avoeme Basic School in the Ketu South Municipality.

This year’s VFL-Ghana reading clinic focused on E-learning, computer lessons, and reading. Participants in the skills development project however received training in beads works, batik, tie and dye, basket weaving and soap making.



For the past years VFL- Ghana has always worked in the interest of children, helping them to improve on their academic pursuits as well as acquire skills in other vocational areas.

Addressing participants, Madam Dzifa Gomashie, CEO of VFL-Ghana indicated that Values For Life, (VFL-Ghana) as a non-governmental organisation continues to champion the development of children through the provision of various social systems and interventions to empower and improve lives of children, youth and women in society through the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Digital Innovations.



She expressed hope that participant will do well in their work and be able to set-up their own businesses, and urged beneficiaries to volunteer as teaching assistants come next year when they organize such programme again.

Madam Gomashie commended the resource persons for their support and prayed for more of such assistance in their subsequent programmes.

She appealed to chiefs, teachers and parents across the municipality to encourage the children to participate in activities of VFL-Ghana so that they also benefit from the good things others are learning.



In a solidary message to participants, Director of Inspire Africa Consult, Mawuena Dumor Threbah promised to collaborate with VFL-Ghana next year to attach business training component to the skills training in order to help them get the best out of their training.

She indicated that while it is good to create with the hand, it is important to generate money out of it; and that is where the business training comes as an important component to help in that direction.



Torgui Anugbo IV, praised Madam Gomashie and all who supported her vision in championing the education of children, as well as offer individuals with skills training in the municipality.

He called on children to emulate the hard work of Madam Dzifa Gomashie and Mawuena Dumor Threbah and aspire for greater heights in life. He admonished those who were impacted with skills to put them to good use since there is a lot in people establishing themselves economically without always resorting to non-existent white colour jobs.


Meanwhile, Multi-Choice supplied VFL-Ghana with four (4) computers and are still willing to support VFL to establish resource centres to promote their objectives.
