Ejisu municipality to get a nursing training school

This, the Municipal Chief Executive, Mrs. Jerryne Asante has reiterated during her community engagement tour of the Akyawkrom, Asotwe, Bonwire and Besease/Jamasi communities on Tuesday, August 19, 2025.
She said this would open up the constituency for both direct and indirect jobs creation which would boost the economic status of the populace.
The tour which is meant to introduce herself to the chiefs and elders of the communities, was also to solicit for their inputs about their developmental needs.
In terms of preference
The Krontihene of Akyawkrom, Nana Baffo Tumutuo who stood in for the chief, said their most challenging problem is the road network which was started by the previous gov’t but left uncompleted.
Besides, the refuse containers are needed for the collection of refuse and early evacuation of same, fence for the basic school, sports complex to occupy the youth, educate youth on drug addiction and start-up loans for women to boost their trading activities.
Nana Adusi Poku, Krontihene of Asotwe, on his part, stated a modern market complex is their most need to boost trading activities and pleaded with the MCE to site the nursing training college in his community because there is vast land that can be release for such purposes. Besides, portable water, street lights to reduce crime and improve security, are needed to improve the living standard of the people.
At Bonwire, Nana Bobie Ansah in particular and his elders, were thankful to the president for having chosen a woman whose origin is from Bonwire as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejisu and insinuated that for this reason he and his subjects would back the NDC gov’t now in the next elections to come, for the necessary developments earmarked to be achieved.
In view of this he pleaded listed the needs of the community which included refuse containers to improve sanitation, extension of street lights to the new sites of the community, completion of the community market, expansion of classroom blocks and dormitories for the SHTS, a police post and above all institute the Bonwire Kente festival as an annual recognizable festival nationwide.
The entourage also visited the traditional leaders and people of Besease/Jamasi. Krontihene, Nana Asabi Antwi II of Besease stated that their KG block cries for completion and furnishing to take pupils from sitting on the floor to learn, proper management of the public place of convenience by an authorize assemblymember, provision of refuse containers and timely evacuation of refuse, collection of cemetery tolls and to help curb the rising incident of youth involvement in illicit drugs such as marijuana and red.
The MCE in her response to all the requests, pledged gov’t readiness to reset the economy and improve the living standards of the citizenry through the various initiatives such as the “nkoko nketenkete” programme for individuals and households, 24hr model markets, youth in apprenticeship programmes where the youth who desire to learn trade are given the required skills training and start-up funds begin with, new recruitments into all the security agencies and soft loans for small scale business operators; the populace must also honour their tax obligations such as building permits and other levies to enable the assembly and central gov’t to carry out all its development programmes within the years as pledged.
She reiterated the President’s commitment to build a nursing training institute in the municipality to enhance health service delivery.
