NASPA supports well-being of Ejisu Municipality

The National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) in collaboration with Living Waters Hospital organized a blood donation and health screening programme as part of the National Service Scheme (NSS) week celebration.

The blood donation and health screening was held for members of the community at the Nation Service Secretariat in Ejisu on the June 13, 2019.

The NASPA president, Mr David Akwasi Addai said the programme is a social responsibility of NASPA; hence, it was not organized for NASPA members alone but the community and general public as well.

Various medical screenings and procedures were held and were all for free with the exception of Hepatitis B which was not free for non-donors (non-blood donors); it was charged GH? 6.00 per person.

The following were various medical procedures performed at the programme: Vitals; thus, weight, blood pressure and height were checked before each individual’s screening or blood donation begun. Blood donors’ were given packages such as, tin of Milo, milk, packed rice a T-shirt, and a certificate known as red paper.

Others included eyes, ears, physiotherapy, HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis B and dental check-ups. Medical advice was given to beneficiaries who suffered complications.

A lot of people were pleased with the programme organized by NASPA and Living Waters Hospital especially for the fact that the whole process was for free because people interviewed said most people do not go through these kinds of Medical check-ups due to its high cost
