Salt Educational Challenge launched; authorities confident it will improve academic performance of students

Salt Media GH, operators of Salt 95.9 FM, Salt TV and Saltfmonline.com has together with the Asante Akyem North Municipal Assembly and Adesua foundation launched an Educational Challenge to help students within the municipality widen the scope of their knowledge and improve academically.

The challenge will also expose students to more practical works as compared to studies in the classroom.

The goal of the challenge is to compliment efforts by the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education to create an enabling environment in all educational institutions to facilitate effective teaching and learning in schools.

The launch which came off earlier today at Salt FM’s Agogo studios was attended by the Director of the Asante Akyem North Education Directorate, Mrs Mildred Ama Kwakye Agyepong, Director of Adesua Foundation who doubles as Adesua hene of Agogo, Nana Adakabre Frimpong Manso and the Municipal Chief Executive of Asante Akyem North Hon. Francis Oti Boateng.

Speaking at the function, the Educational Director said she is very happy such an initiative has been taken to help the municipality and called for support. She expressed optimism about the project improving the already existing successes chopped by the municipality in recent BECE exams.

Nana Adakabre Frimpong Manso also threw support behind the programme and asked that it is organized annual.
He further commended the CEO of Salt FM, Ohene Kwame Frimpong for endorsing such a programme and called for other bodies to rally their support behind the initiative.

On his part, MCE of Asante Akyem North Hon. Francis Oti Boateng, said there will be a full university scholarship for the students who emerge as winners and charged all the schools involved to work hard.

The salt educational challenge is a quiz competition organized by Salt Media GH, Asante Akyem North Municipal Assembly and GES for some 65 schools within 8 zones to evaluate the knowledge of the participants within academics as well as beyond academics.

The quiz is to help with concentration, identification of gaps in knowledge, build confidence and help retain information. The challenge was put together by management of Salt 95.9 FM spearheaded by the morning show host and new programmes manager Agyekum Lukeman Akwasi popularly known as Akwasi Boduah.
